flat challenge..and present struggles...

okay so i just heard of this and i think its a great thing!It shows ppl how to diaper a child by using flats and covers only, nothing fancy and everyone has to hand wash... an extra into keeping it super green and humble i think! i will take on this challenge! it just happens to fall on a weekend where i have to be out and about.... i will try my best to only use flats ans a min of 5 covers for that entire week!! this might be hard but I'm sure i can do it! the flats i have are GMD Birdseye's cotton flats and some flannel blankets. I like using flats bc they dry in 20 Min's, and wash sooo easy. feel free to click on the link -------------->>  it the first on the right side, and learn the rules.... maybe even sign up too, and we can share tips and ideas to better help and educate everyone on a more efficient and cheaper way of diapering babies! I will also update/post pictures of everything that i plan on using for that week. and give an estimaion on cost... bc flats is truly a cheaper way of diappering babies, and its meant to be use from birth to potty!

now..on to present life... I think my little girl is teething but the tooth hasnt broken the skin yet, but shes been very fussy at night and for meal times(nursing), she had a dry cough but today sounds worse than a day ago. Last night she developed a low grade fever it was at 99.1 last night today has been steady at 98.5-99.3. I know that low grade fever help fight viruses and small flu's in babies so I havent given her meds for it but I hate to see her fussy. She also isnt sleeping as much and i know that is affecting her. Today we will give lots of love and affection and rest up! Hope my baby feel better soon. I'll keep ya'll updated! update on sleep + extra's

Okay she did wake u at 4am and wasn't able to put herself back to bed.. We co-slept again.. today however she is taking naps every three hours for about 30-45 min each. I hope she sleeps well tonight. Yesterday was good, I was able to sleep in and take a nap while Jermaine watched sammi, He also cooked dinner which I wasn't expecting but hey, I'm grateful and I'll take it! The day was very nice out but we decide to stay indoors and enjoy my first Mothers day inside with my baby and hubby. Hope all the Mothers out there had there special day and were cherish, just how a mother should be, It's very hard work to raise a kid, and everyone should give due to whats due! Happy Mothers Day! - and fathers/grandparents don't worry your day will be here soon enough.
- hey back to cloth diapers real quick, I've been using pockets for day and i <3 it!I stuff a flat in there its soo absorbent! last 3 hours! wowwza!!! and I did wool at night with a fitted, she did need a diaper change at 4am but, I think it's because I didn't use a doubler in the fitted. I will try again maybe next week!  I will be purchasing a fleece cover soon within the next two weeks to give that a go and see where it stands!
Im also starting to plan  my big girls bday party! im so excited for this! And im soo proud to say that ive made it, breastfeeding for a year! wow! Very proud Momma here! I will keep everyone updated on how the planning is going when I offically start buying things!

sleep... when its available I'm not sleepy...

okay so a few days ago i was crying bloody murder for some sleep, well i skimmed the book No cry sleep solution, it has very good points but, i wanted a sightly faster result. I already read and practiced the no cry sleep solution a while back i decided to put some steps into practice again!! My daughter normally wakes up at around midnight and 3/4 am almost daily... she decided for herself that some days she wants a 2 hr nap and others she wants two, one hour nap, and some like today NO naps! So with that said, tonight i put her t sleep about 10pm, yes a little late but i was soo caught up on prison break on netflicks i didn't notice the time fly by, she went to sleep in her packnplay and was knocked out. She made noise/whiny at midnight which normally I would get up and carry her which turns into her waking up and wanting to co-sleep, which I don't mind but its not ideal. So instead of getting up I stood still and listened...... and she lasted a whole two minutes awake, and then right back down to sleep. I'm up because my body is use to being awake at this time with her! lol, I will post tomorrow on how/if she woke up or made it thru her 1st night alone!!
Oh and its my first Mother's Day! I'm soo excited, I kept thinking about the fun/excitement I will have when Samaya is older and making me cards and bring me gifts.... oh the joy of having a baby!!! With every tough night/day that I have I do stop and look at my baby girl and say Thanks, She is a healthy, happy bundle of joy. Don't know what I would be doing if she wasn't in my life.

help please..

okay so Samaya is 8 months old, doesn't have teeth (no swollen gums or anything) doesn't crawl. She can however stand supported, walk supported sit alone but not get herself there alone! She is also okay at feeding herself, we still use spoons but she likes to eat her own mum mums and yogurt melts! Now... for the last few days maybe two but whatever seems like a life long thing to me, she isn't sleeping. She takes 30 min naps and has to be on my lap or chest. not on the bed. OH and FYI before this she was taking one morning nap 12-2 in her CRIB and an evening nap 4-6 where ever... what happened?? I dunno, please help... but i must say today we woke up at 9ish made breakfast pears and bananas with oatmeal for her, she didn't even eat half, she did nurse at least 5 times already a lot i know! but she nurses in five minute increments if that most the time 3-4 mins. then i played with her on the floor about 40 min then we took a shower together, i gave her a mini massage and read four books. By that time she was sleepy so i nursed her one side and she totally gave out! i waited 5 min then put her in her CRIB. She lasted 30 min. THAT'S IT!!!! i tried to let her cry a bit but i cant seem to do that. (i know I'm weak). okay so I sat with her in my bed and she knocked out again on me laying on my tummy, i grab the bobby pillow and lay her down on it and i laid next to her, guess what i ended up falling asleep but i woke up its 45 min after and shes still sleeping and now almost and hour and a half later she is still sleeping. But now I'm scared for night time! Yesterday she was up from midnight to 3AM.  If anyone out there has any thoughts please share below!

okay so today i received my re-purpose wool diaper cover, that just it a wool cover made from an old sweater! They say that using wool covers with either a prefold, a flat, or a fitted diapers is truly the best.. so of course I said I wanna try! I ordered mine from esty.com a wahm, I couldn't wait to put Samaya in a work horse fitted red edge and pop the cover on. its been one hour an a half and no leaks yet! I'm very amazed!! Wool covers are great during the summer/anytime because its more breathable, and only needs to be washed about once a month. My regular pul covers should be washed about once a week, also fleece is another option to use as a cover over cloth diapers! May try that too and ill blog about it if i do!
